About Us

Karen Anderson
With many years experience starting and training a wide variety of horses and ponies, Karen also runs KA Equestrian, a backing, schooling and coaching business, set up to provide a professional, quality service for owners who were looking to have their horses trained in a quiet and sympathetic manner. Karen’s equestrian background includes the full range of pony club activities, affiliated show jumping and dressage but her passion for working with young horses and those requiring some educational improvement came from working on a dressage training yard on leaving school. Many years of watching, reading, and hands on learning enabled Karen to take on clients of her own and in the beginning, they were always the horses other people had decided not to take onto their yards. Karen has her own young dressage horse about to start competing and is on the look out for the next one but out-with horses she loves nothing more than entertaining friends and family in her home with fiance Chris.

Jenny Love
Fully immersed in the horsey world, Jenny also runs her own saddlery in Oban on the West Coast of Scotland, The Horse Box. In addition, Jenny has her BHSAI and teaches freelance clients from novices up to serious competitiors, local pony club and is  a member of Oban Riding Club committe. Jenny's equestrian background lies primarily in showjumping where she has jumped up to grade A level with her now retired dutch warmblood. Jenny now is focussing on her youngsters, a just backed jumping prospect and an Oldenburg yearling to show in hand with the intention of venturing into the dressage world with her. Out-with horses Jenny helps her husband Robbie with their sheep farm and brings up two young sons.

With the combined talents and experience of both of us we are ideally placed to break, school and produce quality horses for a variety of disciplines. All our horses and ponies are carefully sourced for the bloodlines and temprement then quietly and sympathetically produced without rushing them. We then aim to take the horses to at least one show to give it a competition record. Please see our show diary for more information.
Because we carefully source, vet and produce our horses and ponies we never have the large numbers in that dealers do - our horses and ponies are individuals and each professionally broken or schooled at KA equestrian according to their own individual schedule which we carefully discuss and monitor (and this means our ponies actually have children riding them!!). We take our time with our horses and ponies so you can be assured of the best quality.
In addition, we offer an excellent package - when you buy your horse or pony you can take advantage of  a massive 20% off an order from The Horse Box saddlery (up to a valueof £1000) to kit your horse or pony out.

If we dont have the horse you are looking for we also offer a finding service - simply tell us your wish list and budget and we will use all our contacts to see if we can find your ideal horse or pony and produce it to the highest level for you within budget. So we take all the stress out of horse hunting and remove the problem of finding a great horse but then worrying about how much work needs done to make it your ideal animal.
